Initially launched as Black Boy Knits (BBK),  Agbobly emphasizes Black, queer and immigrant design codes, highlighting a global perspective. As a design studio, Agbobly continues to create unique pieces on a made-to-order basis, in addition to creating knitwear and ready-to-wear items that cater to a wider clientele.


As the industry moves towards more diverse representation within luxury clothing, it is important to redefine the standards with more depth, color, and possibility. Our brand is centered around individuality with a keen sense of playful optimism and West African nationalism. We aim to subvert expectations for work made by African designers. We want Agbobly to serve as a reflection of the multiplicity of Blackness through the offering of nuanced approaches to the traditional Togolese handcraft techniques that are often overlooked within luxury fashion.
