Togo Vivi Na

This collection is simply a love letter to Togo. While designing the collection, I collected images and memories of joy, family, and warm summer weather spent with my grandmother and family. These images and memories were key things that formed my identity. This is largely rooted in dress practices and the attitude of always showing up looking your best self and coordinated. It’s to show the identity isn’t linear and that it evolves and changes.

Throughout the collection, there are references to the authentic foods and drinks that I used to consume associated with my upbringing. Drinks like Malta, and Fanyogo ice cream are referenced in the forms of prints, embroidery and beading. This act of humor speaks to the childlike nature I tapped into while creating this collection.
